You Get Used To It
June 5, 2018
Everybody asks how I can go without sodas, you get used to it. Only 1 or 2 tortillas per week, living in San Antonio, you get used to it. I live without cable TV, you get used to it. When you put your mind to something you have to jump all in. I am sure that you know that I am a fatty. I decided to cut off sodas completely, forever. High Fructose Corn Syrup is out of my life too. Even Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce that I love(d) (first ingredient HFCS) is out.
Sometimes you have to keep doing the hard work over and over and over to get to your goals. The road is hard and bumpy but you get used to it. This determination to accomplish your goals is true and total commitment.

10 Things Nobody Will Ever Tell You That You Need To Do To Invest In Real Estate.
Total commitment is what you need in your life. Whether it is commitment to eating healthy, investing in real estate, saving for a vacation, whatever. Do it totally and wholeheartedly. Only then will accomplish your goals.
September 2018 my wife and I will be going to FinCon 2018. I know that by then my beach bod will not be in full form yet. Four months is not enough time to
get those abs in complete shape. The six pack has been covered by a koozie for too many years to make their apprearance in 4 months. BUT hard work and dedication will allow me to at least take off my shirt at the swimming pool in Orlando. It will be a testament to my hard work.
What are you working on that shows your hard work??
At first, total commitment is hard. When I first started looking for pre-foreclosures back in 2002 I thought I would never find a deal. I realized that I had to find a property or else starve. After about 20 or 30 people said no, I got used to people saying no. I realized that I would have to see a whole bunch of people before I got a yes. You get used to it. I smiled, said that if you change your mind, here is my card. Call me if you need anything.
This went on for about 4 months. NO, no, no, no. I got over 100 NOs. Then I got a YES!!! I talked with the gentleman and ended up double closing on the property and made over $12k. It still took about 2 months to close. In the mean time I went back to hearing NOs. I got used to it so it did not bother me anymore. I knew with enough NOs, there would be a YES. That yes would mean some income.
This is the same with no sodas, no sodas, yes beach bod. It will take plenty of time, but it will happen. And even now, I have gotten used to saying, “I will take water” if we go out to eat.
It is hard for me to see people end their pay period with $10 or $15 in their checking account. You get used to it. Most people seem to think that is just the way it is. It is not. Do something to change those bad habits.
“I make plenty of money and I am going out to eat dinner everyday”. You get used to it. My wife and I have at times gotten used to eating out. We had to make a conscious effort to cook at home. It is when you make those conscious efforts to stay commited to your goals that you achieve them. Get used to the discipline of saying to your friends at lunch, “No thanks, I brought my lunch”. Instead of a soda, “I will take water”.
Stay commited. Believe me, you get used to it.
